Transporting E-bikes

We love our e-bikes.  We used to haul them in the back of the truck, but with the truck bed full of other things now we had to put them on the receiver on the back of the trailer.

First step was getting the spare tire out of the way.  I relocated the spare from the rear bumper to under the chassis using the BAL Retract-A-Spare.  Installation was relatively easy.

Doing upgrades in campsites is a bit slower than if you have a front yard.

The other issue we had was finding a bike rack that was rated for carrying the weight of e-bikes with the dynamics of a travel trailer.  We settled on the Swagman ESCAPEE.  It works great, but one last issue we need to resolve is that the handlebar touches the rear window.  Right now we just rotate the handlebar, but need a permanent solution.

Guajome

Guajome is a San Diego County Campsite in eastern Oceanside.  Nice sites (not stacked in like sardines), hiking trails and easy access to the San Luis Rey River Trail have made it a stop on our weekend rotation.  Full hookups made it appealing in July.

We walked around the parks trails and did some trailer maintenance and upgrades while we were here.

Doheny

This trip to Doheny was part of our regular rotation with the r-pod.  We kept it because it was beachfront.

Cybele drove down to hang out with us.

Pismo Beach

At Pismo Beach we finally got to enjoy some cool weather.  We did some sightseeing, watched the Tour de France and just relaxed.
