Skiing in Norway

I went skiing with some friends from work during one of the weekends I have been in Norway. Conditions were fantastic.  It was the first day I had seen the sun for three weeks.

Snow on the Lake

It snowed in Stavanger!  The locals claim it doesn't snow very much, but I think that is a very relative judgement.

Norwegian Summer Home

This is a cottage on a small island along the southern coast of
Norway. In this area people are not allowed to live permanently so
this is someone's summer home.

Knuckle Boom Crane

A fully functional scale model of a knuckle boom crane manufactured by
NOV.  You can get a sense of scale by looking at the handrails around
the pedestal and along the top of the boom.  This is at a NOV training
facility in Kristiansand, Norway.

In Norway they celebrate midsummer night on June 23. They celebrate
by riding around in boats and lighting bonfires.

June 20, at 1:00 a.m. the sky is still not completely dark...

The Longest Day

The sun set on the hills above Kristiansand, Norway at 10:15 pm. I
was called several names for knowing the following information, but in
Kristiansand, June 21 was 6 seconds longer than June 20 and was 2
seconds longer than June 22 will be.

Snowman

The night before I left Kristiansand it snowed.  I felt compelled to stop and make a snowman, even if it was a small one, before I got on my plane.
