Downtown Chiang Mai

A short walk through downtown Chiang Mai will take you by a lot of
temples. The old city of Chiang Mai was a walled city surrounded by a
moat. The moat is still there, but only a few pieces of the wall remain
including the main gate, Tha Phae Gate (tie-pay). These pictures were
all taken walking down the main street from Tha Phae Gate to Wat
Prasingh on the other end of the old walled city. On my way back I ran
across the Thai version of volleyball and the one street in Thailand
where they drive on the right side of the road (usually they drive on
the left).
